Systems Engineering and Integration

We develop custom engineering solutions to complex unmanned systems problems. We understand when COTS solutions are appropriate, and when custom solutions are required. We have experience with the various elements required to develop unmanned vehicles to solve real problems, including embedded systems, perception systems, manipulation, and platform integration, and operator control stations.

 

 

Interoperability


We design systems for interoperability with existing unmanned systems standards, allowing for component re-use by the system developer and end customer. We have significant experience with the SAE Joint Architecture for Unmanned Systems (JAUS), having helped define and implement the standard.

Autonomy


Our approach to autonomy is that less is more. Autonomy best serves the user when it improves the efficiency or performance of a specific task. We prefer to tailor autonomy solutions to specific problems, by analyzing the domain and taking advantage of whatever we can in the environment to make the problem easier to solve. We've found that this makes for more robust solutions with better performance.
